The SERU TfL Test is conducted by Transport for London covering Safety, Equality, and Regulatory Understanding for Private Hire Vehicles also known as PHVs.
TfL has introduced this SERU test as a mandatory requirement for all new and current applicants including those who will be renewing their licenses. This SERU Test applies to all those who offer their services as a London private hire vehicle (PHV) driver. It is used to demonstrate that PHV drivers have an understanding of Safety, Equality, and Regulatory matters and most importantly have a good command of English.
The SERU assessment will cover all aspects of the PHV Driver’s Handbook and it is very important that all PHV drivers have a full understanding of what the SERU contains.
This is why it is imperative for everybody to practice the SERU handbook regularly before taking the assessment which TfL can call you at any time.
The SERU test involves multiple choice questions and completing sentences with missing words.
